The program effect, consisting of music by Elgar and Alard (Fantasia for violin on themes from La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi) in the first part, Respighi ("Il Tramonto" for mezzo-soprano and orchestra, very impressive) and Britten in the second, was once again much appreciated by the audience. Strong and expressive Longo's wand, the violin virtuoso De Filippi and touching voice of Guarnera. The concert was held on the occasion of Remembrance Day of Holocaust victims, Jan. 27.

Messina, Puccini: Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi
great success yesterday at the Vittorio Emanuele di Messina Tetro, for the first of the new production, entirely by the Body, Sister Angelica and Gianni Schicchi by Giacomo Puccini. The two works, staged tomorrow and Saturday, go to complete the triptych Puccini began last fall with Tabarro.
The two works, edited in part from the beloved musical conductor Carlo Palleschi , and directed by Stefano Vizioli very good, have been appreciated by critics and audiences for their attention to detail in the music and staging, as well as the fact that it was a production made entirely by the independent Regional Teatro Vittorio Emanuele di Messina. The cast is excellent, has managed to juggle the two scores so different, and in this case the common denominator of sophisticated writing Puccini. More details about the cast and crew are available at the Theater at ufficilale this link. Interviews addressed the key players of this production can be found in this rather interesting article .

Yesterday, January 20, 2011, in Rosolini, small town of Syracuse, organized by ' Auditorium Music Association - Academy of Music , it was a concert by the cellist Paul Andriotto.
The first part of the concert was devoted to classic songs of the cello repertoire, beginning with the Suite for cello solo of the English composer Gaspar Cassadò, and continuing with the song "Alone" the great cellist and composer Giovanni Sollima Sicilian. In the second part you chose a program to capture the effect of diverse public in the audience: first, the musical fable "Clare and Charles" (written by the same Andriotto), beautifully interpreted by the narrator Enza Serrentino, a work written with the intent of the listener to experience a full range of tonal and expressive possibilities of the cello. The evening's program ended with the wonderful duo for Cello and Double Bass by Gioacchino Rossini duet with Jose Blanco, the first bass del'Orchestra del Teatro Vittorio Emanuele di Messina. Warm applause and a different finish.
